Chair, TV/Film Department
Chuck Gloman has over 30 years of experience as a producer and director of photography with over 900 TV commercials, 250 corporate videos, and 100 documentaries to his credit. His films have aired on HBO, Cinemax, and network television. He is the author of Placing Shadows: The Art of Video Lighting, 2nd Edition (Focal Press: 2000); No Budget Digital Filmmaking (McGraw-Hill: 2002); 202 Digital Photography Solutions (McGraw-Hill: 2003); Placing Shadows: The Art of Video Lighting, 3rd Edition (Focal Press: 2005); Scenic Design and Lighting Techniques (Focal Press: 2006); and Working with HAD (Focal Press: 2006). He is a contributing editor to Ideography, Digital Video, TV Technology, and Government Video magazines and has published over 300 articles.
Born in Michigan and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania, Mike Wagner worked for almost a decade in Physical Therapy before his passion for film blossomed into a career. Since 1998, Mike has freelanced far and wide in the TV/film industry, primarily in camera and editing departments. As an independent filmmaker, he has set loose upon the world dozens of narrative short films, music videos and documentaries. Mike graduated from Florida State University in 2005 with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Narrative Film Production. The conservatory’s accelerated production schedule enabled him to experience nearly every department and crew position on more than 60 short films, while he focused on directing and editing. Mike continues to explore filmmaking and evolve as a visual storyteller with such an inclusive approach.
Film Equipment Specialist
John "Jack" Lerch is DeSales University's go-to specialist for the latest and greatest technology on the cutting-edge of the TV/Film industry. Jack is an incredibly talented photographer and videographer with a wealth of experience preserving special moments like weddings, children’s portraits, life milestones, corporate events, and community gatherings. He has served as senior photographer for Air Products, and has had his images published internationally in a variety of publications. He has studied at the Hallmark Institute of Photography, Kutztown University, Northampton Community College, Kodak learning courses, and numerous Professional Photographers of America classes. When he isn’t hard at work providing student access to some of DeSales University’s finest video technology, he serves as an advisor on the Community Advisory Board for the commercial photography program at Lehigh Career Technical Institute.
